Some Interesting Race Facts

Got an email today from Bob Becker, the race director, with lots of good pre-race info.  On the website is a link to a list of the 2014 competitors, and there are a lot of them!  It got me wondering about exactly how many participants there are in each category, so I emailed to ask.  Here's what I found out!  (These are rounded approximations as per Mr. Becker's response.)

• 160 individual 100-miler racers
• 150 individual 50-miler racers
• 120 relay teams of which 22 are military teams (meaning 4 or more members are active military) 

I've got my hat tipped in awe to the 300+ runners who are tackling 50 or 100 miles by themselves!
